Ah yes. DnD is officaly an unhealthy adiction for me. LOL. This is the second night i a row that my brain decided "He heres this useless bit of mechanics in a TTRPG i love to play...Let break the game! >:-) " and kept me up all night thinking about making this work.

This posts culprate...Bugbears Battle Masters and the Bastard Combo.

For those of you who dont know the Bastard Combo is a combantion of the feats pole arm master, sentinel, and a pole arm usualy the halberd. For those of you who DM for min/maxers that play fighter , palidins, or hexalidins, you know of the nightmear i speak.

Player: "So dose the BBEG move within 10 ft of me?"

DM, tired of the BS but unable to stop it: "*sigh* Yes... -_-"

Player: "SENTENAL BITCH!"

Besides the point. This post is not a rant about "MiN/mAxInG BaD" but how min/maxing can fuck with my sleep schedual. So lets throw a little bugbear into this mix shall we.

So bugbears (a highly underated race imo) get this nifty little trait as a part of their race called long armed. So with a halberd a bug bear has a 15 ft reach. But wait! Theres More! just put the Bastard Combo ontop of that and boom ultimate nightmaar fuel.

Now lets throw a little battle master into the mix. battle masters have a manuver called lunging attack.

Lunging Attack

When you make a melee weapon attack on your turn, you can expend one superiority die to increase your reach for that attack by 5 feet. If you hit, you add the superiority die to the attack's damage roll.

So lets do some maths real quick.

10ft (from halberd reach) 5ft (long armed) 5ft (lunging attack) = 20 ft reach.

Thats the same range as a fireballs radious! So as a bugbear battle master on your turn can whack someone 20 ft away. To put that into perspective the average master bedroom is 14ft x 16ft. haveing a 20ft reach means that you could hit someone in the oposite corner of the room on the rooms DIAGONAL! thats fucking nuts!

Your melee reach with this combo is ONLY 10 FT SHORTER THE A DAGGERS FIRST THROWN RANGE INCORMENT or for thoses of you who are intelectals... 10 FEET SHORTER THAN A KRAKENS TENTECAL ATTACK! YOUR REACH CAN BE DOUBLE THAT OF A GIANTS. Thats right! You could as a 3rd lvl PC have a longer reach then a fucking giant!

Just slap on some Tunnel fighter and you litteraly become a living wall of goblinoid fur and furry! Being able to stop bitches in their tracks and slap some sence into their friends behind them.

Sprinkle 3 lvls of warlock and take repeling blast and the feat warcaster and you'll have bad guys rubber banding hard than Anthem on release day.
