First time playing dnd and this might sound odd but I'm level 5 EK and was wondering about multiclassing two levels of Druid, specifically for a spell and the ability to transform into a dire wolf.
It's mainly for lore and character purposes but am I crazy or at higher levels this will be completely wasted and useless.
At first glance I thought it might just be crazy enough to be fun, extra attack, action surge, situational abilities for shape shifting sounded like a good idea... but low AC with no spells to help and can't use feats like great weapon fighting, no magical damage in wild shape.
My question is it viable in higher levels, do your main attacks bonus into wild shape to tank a big hit you know is coming? Or does all monsters late game have resistance and you won't be able to hit or deal damage.
