Hey everyone, I'm gearing to get back into DMing, but I'm also dreading keeping track of turn order. Everytime I ran a combat encounter, it basically turns into how many HP does orc a have? did orc a even have his turn yet? wait, isn't orc a prone from the last turn? which drastically slows things down, I can easily keep track on a piece of paper, but when you got a group of 6 orcs, who all look alike.....order only lasts for a turn or two and thats being optimistic.

So how do you guys manage turn order and overall keeping track of each particular enemy's hp, status, etc during combat?

Obviously, this is in person games and not online.
