So Lord of the Rings is on Netflix now. While watching the combat of Gandalf and the Balrog. Being a DM my mind went how would this work in a Session... decided to break it down into D&D mechanics: 1. Before combat Gandalf attempts to Intimidate and fails 2. Gandalf wins initiative casts Mage Armor 3. Balrog makes attacks and fails 4. Gandalf cast Shatter on the bridge knowing a head to head fight won't come in his favor 5. Balrog moves into bridge after a failed Perception check and fails Dex save when the bridge buckles starts to fall 6. Balrog uses action to make a grapple check with Whip and is successful 7. Gandalf makes a Dex save to not fall fails, then makes a Acrobatics to grab the ledge, then attempt an Athletics check to climb up fails. Use free action to tell rest of the party to run
