Hello everyone!
Live shows are fast approaching again and I wanted to make a PSA as someone who noticed some unsavory behavior around resellers for the West Coast shows.
Basically, for anyone who was unlucky enough to not have a ticket you are going to have a lot of desire to get one during the resell period. But, I don't want anyone? It's getting scammed by a Scam Likely, like I saw for some West coasters so here are some important tips:
Most of the people that are going to resell their tickets are going to do it the day of or the day before the show in your city so that is the time to be vigilant to get a second chance for a ticket.
Always lean towards buying from people on the patreon discord over anybody from Reddit. Most of the scammers last time around were people from Reddit so be more vigilant of Reddit resellers
If you do get a message from somebody you trying to sell you a ticket from Reddit, there is one surefire way to confirm if they are the real deal:
ASK THEM QUESTIONS ABOUT THE SHOW!!!
You would be surprised how many of these people know absolutely nothing about the podcast; one scammer who got caught last year didn't even know that Glenn was a bard!
- If you do notice a scammer on the subreddit then please report them as soon as possible to avoid them trying to scam others
For anyone that is feeling bummed they were not able to get a ticket there is still a chance! Follow these steps and wait for the days before the show and it might happen; the Portland discord helped so many people get tickets that went up last minute and I even got a VIP ticket from someone by creating a unique NPC for there campaign; anything is possible.
