As title says, I feel a TPK is on the horizon. My party is currently in Dweomercore and just finished the high wizards tournament ( running the companion by Wyatt Trull ). After a drawn out and down hill battle with Ezzat that killed most of the remaining upper classmen. They were teleported back to the school when the bard grabbed the phylactery (like when Harry grabbed the goblet). So I'm thinking GREAT we're in the clear, they finished the level and the top 3 prizes went to the party. They were permitted the rest the night ( for getting the phylactery ) and would be escorted to the next level in the morning. Smooth right?
Well go figure they went and screwed with my clean ending to a floor. SURPRISE RIGHT.
They figure now is a great time to finally bite on the "lets steal Halaster's spare spellbook hook." So here we are (with only a short rest since the Ezzat fight) they find Halaster's sanctuary, the door gets slammed shut by the golems and the skull just slammed them to the floor.
Idk how this is anything other than a TPK. They are shot on resources (potions, spell slots, class features, ect..) and we are down a party member this week to boot. they have Violence with them but that's it. do i embrace the TPK? Do I just hope they can push through? Or do I finish them all off only to have them awake in Alterdeep?
the party make up
Monk Lvl 10 - way of the sun soul
Bard Lvl 11 - College of Glamour
Warlock lvl 10 - Hexblade ( was totem Barbarian but he died earlier on this floor)
Artificer Lvl 10 - Alchemist ( came in same time as hexblade, an old player returning to the campaign after maybe a year absence) is our missing player this week
We use to have a wizard that unfortunately had to move out of state =(
Any help / input/ advice or wise words from the Hive Mind would be very welcome
Thank you in advance
