I know what I did. The move was Perilous Journey. The player just basically hauled ass and I asked them if they were going to make a roll. As this was a forum game, it's not like they couldn't just take two seconds to read the Move, pick a role, and make a roll.
But no, they had to go and nope the fuck out of that. So I told them that for their purposes they automatically succeeded at Trailblazing and Quartermaster, making it to the destination in record time, and consuming 1 less ration. They would unfortunately, due to the in character deliberate recklessness (which I asked if they were absolutely certain they wanted to do more than once) automatically fail Scout, and eat damage from an environmental hazard that they could not logically have scouted out.
I mean I'll grant they were playing the role of the self absorbed princess to the hilt, but this player's been really inattentive for the whole game, and I basically felt like they were going for full on shenanigans the entire time. Here's some other examples:
- Trying to make out with the character who had a Vow of Temperance
- Skimming over details I provided as part of being looked to, as well as answering questions that are written in the rulebook. Seriously you could not get this girl to acknowledge the existence of your answers to her questions without using all caps and fucks.
- Ignored all instances of me telling her she earned XP and to record it.
So she just up and left citing freeform as more in tune with her interest. I couldn't help but wonder if people in her freeform games just let her have her shenanigans without realistic consequences, "because you write your character on the honor system, you know how they work" or whatever.
