The name Melini.

Just a quick question, sorry if it's common knowledge, but with the epilogue chapters, I've seen the name Melini be used to refer either to the Golden Kingdom or the capital of the Golden Kingdom.
Was this the kingdom's original name and just got forgotten during the 1000 years it stayed under the earth, or did Laios and co. just name it that? Or even, the dreaded, "not explicitly said" yet?
