Hey guys. I am going to be starting a new campaign in a couple of weeks. The first session is going to start with the PC’s having been captured by a lich. I’ve read that a lich is very solitary, but that their phylactery requires souls to stay fully functional. What I haven’t been able to find, other than the imprisonment spell from the 5e monster manual to incapacitate , is how a lich acquires their victims. I’d rather not have a giant plot hole right off the bat, but I don’t really see an insane and antisocial being going out of their lair to a town or something and snatching people up. Any advice on this would be greatly appreciated.
