Even though I didn't grow up fundie, I would say the term sister mom very much applied to me. With my blended family, the case was that my parents went on to have a second batch of kids with new partners, at an age and life stage where they probably shouldn't have. Sometimes I wish I grew up fundie, because the experience probably wouldn't have been as isolating if I had been surrounded by lots of women and girls experiencing what I did and perhaps even seeing a higher purpose in it. I think that's what made me interested in the Duggars and fundies in the first place. I still feel a connection to the Duggar girls because of this. I find it really interesting to see the dynamics of their adult relationships and their own parenting, considering their upbringing. Also, I find the sister mom memes on this sub so healing and I love that I can finally laugh about it! I'm wondering if there are more women like me, who became interested in the Duggars for this reason? Who've also been able to heal a bit through this sub. I'd love to hear from you!
