Boat Help
Post Body

Hey guys,

I’ve been looking for a duck boat for a bit. Finally deciding to just put one together myself

I’m potentially going to get a steal on a 1548 Semi V Hull boat with 20” sides and a 62” beam width. It’s a Weldbilt Brand.

I’m hoping to be able to boat some backwater but I’ll often have to cross open water. (Mississippi Pool 26, MO River). Do you think she can handle it or is out of her element?

Comments

Do you mean mod v? Where it’s essentially a flat bottom besides for the first few feet of the bow where it tapers to a point?

But either way yea a 1548 will be fine. My biggest thing would be making sure I had a super reliable motor that starts every time.
