My buddy wants to get into waterfowl hunting and thinks he prefers a semi auto. I personally have an Affinity 3.5 but I think that’s too expensive for him. Anybody have any cheaper semi auto recommendations?
Any why do you think it’s too expensive for him? Or is this more of a he wants to try duck hunting before diving off the financially irresponsible diving board that duck hunting is? If so, don’t you or another friend have a spare shotgun he could borrow for a season? I have a few cheaper shotguns I borrow out to newcomers. Then I ultimately ruin them when I let them use one of my wicked wings for a full hunt at the end of the season.
But anyways this question has been beat to death between this sub and other shotgun subs. For budget stuff you have the Turkish stuff. You generally get what you pay for, but the more reputable brands such as CZ, Tristar, Weatherby, and Mossberg International (literally rebranded Tristar) are pretty good. I have 3 Tristar vipers (410 and 28ga premiums, and my wife’s 20ga competition) that have all performed well.
