So I have an older 90’s model landau 1670 mod v tunnel hull that I’m running a prodrive on. I know the tunnel hull isn’t great for the performance of a surface drive, and the floor in my boat is a pita to navigate seating because of the ribs and not being flat. So I took it into a local boat shop to get a quote on having the tunnel closed up and a floor put in. The floor would be 1/8th aluminum with closed cell foam under it, the tunnel welded shut and some added reinforcement to the transom since the boat doesn’t have benches anymore tying both gunwales together. The quote came back as $2100. Should I stick this money into the boat? Or should I skip it all together? I’d love a new hull from prodrive, or similar boat company, but not sure if it’s in the cards this year to drop 10-15k on a new hull.
