Hey all,
I was doing some reading around a common issue with the Panigale and starting when motor and/or temps are hot. It is even worse when the motor is hot and you just stopped to refuel. After hearing about a solution that involves removing some emissions equipment, I decided to give it a try. Well, the verdict is in. Problem solved. I have yet to have another hot start problem since the removal of the canister. I have put 500 miles on the bike and have zero problems to report except for the faint smell of fuel when I park the bike after a long ride. I will gladly smell a little fuel vapor versus having to wait 20 minutes for my super bike to start.
The process to do it can be found online and takes about 15 minutes. It can also be put back together quickly if you want to sell your bike. FYI - this only applies to bikes in North America as other countries donβt have the emissions laws that require the EVAP canister.
Hope this helps someone be little less frustrated with an expensive bike like I was. Ride safe!
