I currently own Hyundai Elantra 2021. In 3 years time, I had battery issue, backlight malfunction, transmission issue, some apple car play issue, etc.
I was thinking to change my car for ~ 200k and SUV. Chinese brands are making really good looking cars GAC GS8, Jetour T2, etc but I heard everyone saying Chinese brands are not reliable.
So I said, fine, letβs look at: Jeep Wrangler (pathetic reviews) Chevrolet Traverse (bad reviews) Hyundai Santa Fe 2024 (but my own experience has not been great with Hyundai) Tesla Model Y (cant have charging station at my apartment basement gay)
And the list goes on, based on reviews even if I look at cars above my budget like Range Rover or Lincoln Nautilius, people are saying you will have issues in few years. Then if all brands have issues, why not buy a chinese car for half the price and enjoy for few years before selling it. Its 2024, people are not buying cars for 25 years. I am bored from my Elantra in 3 years and want to change already.
I do not want an entry level Toyota (fortuner/highlander) or Nissan (x trail/pathfinder) etc. The interior is so boring compared to all new cars. I love Land Cruiser and Patrol but they are out of my budget.
What to do? (Edit: After reading a lot of comments everyone is saying opt for Lexus which is basically Toyota and very expensive. So if all other car brands are not reliable, why so much hate for chinese cars?)
