this is part rant part request for advice, please bear with me.
i’m in the market for a new gaming laptop, mine is getting quite frustrating to use (slow some keys on the keyboard not working properly) so it is pretty urgent. i work from home so having a laptop is essential, and i wanted to upgrade from an exclusively professional-use device to something that can also double as a high-end gaming device. i wanted to buy a pc a few months ago but moved to a smaller place so that’s not an option anymore, i don’t have enough room for it. i usually like to buy electronics from stores that allow installments and extended warranties for my own peace of mind. i also would prefer to get a new-gen laptop to future proof my purchase.
however it feels like my choices are pretty limited at these stores due to lack of stock exorbitant prices. i do not like msi’s design profile, and would rather go for lenovo or asus (as a last choice), mayyybe razer but most probably lenovo. the new lenovo legion pro is available only with a 4090 gpu at sharafdg and not available at emax (these two are closest to me). also, even if i did find my choice, the prices feel pretty ridiculous. at sharaf dg the 4090 lenovo legion 7 is AED 14,599!!! i guess this would be mitigated by installments but i also don’t want to pay for more than i need just bc of urgency. then you have stores like the ones on hamdan street (i live in ad so this is the closest option) — the places i did check with don’t have any installment payment options so those are really a last choice. amazon has the choice i want, however there isn’t an option to extend the warranty bc it’s sold through a third party seller and not directly from amazon. black friday is too far away and in any case i don’t think new gen laptops would go on sale then anyway, though i may have more choices by that point (which may cause the prices to stabilize on their own).
what would you do if you were me? any advice is appreciated, thank you!!!
