Am I missing something? Diagnosis: MGD/Ocular rosacea/dry eyes/blepharitis
Post Body

Another dry eye post, how fun! Sorry about the hideous pictures😂

Ever since I started with stomach issues following a holiday to the Canary Islands 2 years ago, this was a very stressful time for me. Since then, suffered with anxiety (it’s better now but still get palpitations), then a few months later started developing skin issues diagnosed initially as sebhorreic dermatitis. Then the eye issues followed, what felt like burning rather than dryness. Some days are better than others, but majority of days I can’t function because I struggle to keep them open. The muscles around my eyes ache from the constant squinting.

Diagnosis: “MGD”, blepharitis, “ocular rosacea”.

Current routine for the past 6 months:

Heated eye mask for 10 mins twice a day Regular PF eye drops Eyelid wipes (teatree, ocusoft, a lot of different ones) A lot of omega-3, tried omega 7 Tried Manuka honey eye drops for a month Currently 5 weeks into 1x 100mg doxycycline a day Currently 3 weeks into dexamethadone eye drops for inflammation

Nothing seems to really be helping.

Does anyone have any similar stories/remedies/caused?

Im due to see a dry eye specialist in London at the dry eye centre in 10 days for an examination and treatment plan. Apparently IPL is often beneficial, but even if it works, I’m not sure I have the funds to repeat every few months.

Yes any cyclosporine drops will do. It helps reduce inflammation.

I would give the IPL a try. And maybe Restasis if you haven't yet.
