Safe to take two 36 mg of Concerta?

I took a 36 mg Concerta yesterday which was my first time ever doing a study aid stimulant. I really didn't experience any huge increase in concentration and all it did was make me energetic, so I was thinking of taking two 36 mg Concertas Monday morning. This will be only the second time ever doing a stimulant like this, so is this safe?

If it isn't safe, I was thinking of cutting one 36 mg Concerta in half and then popping both halves to make it instant release. Will this work?
