Brief context of the problem: I struggle with excessive daytime sleepiness, and have been prescribed stimulants such as Concerta and Ritalin in the past. These drugs have caused me excessive nervousness and have exacerbated my OCD symptoms, however; I am barely functional while under the effect of stimulants (including coffee), so I am now trying armodafinil. When I used to take Ritalin or Concerta, I would take them about an hour before I intended to wake up -- I found that the Ritalin/Concerta both took about an hour to have their effects.

Question: How long does armodafinil typically take to start having its effects? I am trying to figure out what time I should take it, as I will be taking my first dose on Tuesday. I've struggled to find any definitive/conclusive ranges of times and have encountered a variety of different answers to this question.

With all of this information in mind, any insights with regard to how long armodafinil takes to have its effect would be greatly appreciated. Thanks so much.
