Hey guys, I've been a smoker for a while now and only recently I've had this weird problem where as soon as I smoke a bowl, within a minute my hand immediately starts to get numb and within around 5 minutes it's at its peak numbness. I'm confused as I have done a lot of research and cannot seem to find anything about this so I thought maybe reddit might be my saviour?
This has happened the three last times which I have smoked, the first time was bearable, the second time was a lot worse but I pulled through. The third time was around two months later and I had probably 1/4 of what I would normally have but it was the worst one yet. My hand was extremely numb, but not numb where I cannot feel my hand but rather a very uncomfortable sensation in my whole hand that I cannot describe. This would happen to both my hands and I would not be able to open or close them at all as the feeling of discomfort was extreme so I force myself to keep my hands open until it wore off around 3-4 hours later as it gradually eased down. I went to hospital hoping for them to give me something to ease the discomfort but I had to wait around 3 hours to even see a doctor and by then it was bearable and around 20-30% of what it was at its peak (I sobered up before it completely went away). Unfortunately, they did not know what had happened but told me to just stop smoking altogether and I should be fine so that hospital trip basically did not help at all.
It has been a few months since I have smoked after that day as I don't want to take the risk anymore but It is still bothering me that I do not know what exactly is causing this and cannot find anyone with similar experiences. I keep thinking about what would have happened if I had smoked a normal amount rather than 1/4 bowl. It sucks that I cannot get high anymore and I really would love to find a solution to this. Another thing that happened to my hands during this time which was also really weird was that the same region of all my fingers turned completely pale white as if there was no blood flow (I have shown a pic of the region), but I don't think that was the reason as my pulse on my wrist was still there and normal. I had an ECG and blood pressure/temperature checked at the hospital but everything came out fine. My fingers occasionally get pale white in the same region ever since but very slightly and I can also feel the sensation very slightly but not enough to bother me. I'm pretty fit and healthy and I don't smoke cigarettes so maybe I can rule that out as being a cause?
Does anyone have any idea what this could possibly be and why it is happening, or know anyone who has had similar experiences.
Cheers!
