Weed causing chest pain?

Post Body

Hey guys.

So this is basically the last place I am going to resort to in order to find a solution to this as I have no idea what is causing it and no matter where I search there are no solutions that seem to work. If anyone has experienced similar problems and have managed to figure something useful out please share!

So basically, I've been smoking weed for a few years now and for a very long time It was perfectly fine without any bad side effects. Ever since a few months ago, probably close to a year now I've been getting chest pain when getting high. The pain is close to the center of the chest and feels like a tightness or pressure more so rather than pain but nevertheless it is very uncomfortable and I no longer enjoy the high due to it. At first it started off light but over time eventually because moderate but now it's gotten to the point where its very unbearable and severe where I need to constantly move around and try get it out of my mind as no position including sitting, laying, standing etc makes it at least bearable. I've read about this issue all over the internet and apparently it happens pretty commonly but I haven't been able to find a solution with anyone. Around two months ago, the pain also started to come in my back as well directly opposite in the chest area which I haven't heard about with anyone else before so basically now every time I smoke weed I get severe chest tightness and back tightness in the same region. The pain seems to increase with the bigger hit and more high I am and usually lasts a few hours after I have sobered up as it gradually returns back to normal but no matter how small of a hit I take it is still there. I used to be a frequent smoker but now I am no longer smoking as it's basically way too uncomfortable and unless I know what the real deal with it is it's scary to have as well.

At first I suspected it was my heart and they seem to fit in with symptoms of a heart attack but I'm pretty healthy, fit and exercise and weight train regularly so I doubt it. Besides, I did an ECG and my heart came out to be perfectly fine. I'm pretty sure it's not my lungs either because I've smoked a dream plant called Calea Zacatechichi a few times with a bong and no side effects at all. This leaves me to the last possible thing that I could think of which is anxiety, but I doubt anxiety could cause such extreme pressure and discomfort on the chest/back area and I'm not relying on that as there is still a change it could be something else which is actually a risk to my health.

I have tried smoking out of a vaporizer as those were some suggestions but it didn't seem to make much of a difference. I also now take multivitamins daily so I doubt it's lack of any vitamins in my system. I have realized though when I am high on MDMA and smoke some weed the MDMA seems to completely eliminate this pain but it starts to return back once the MDMA effects wear off. This has kind of lead me even more into thinking it's psychological and could be just anxiety but then again something still just keeps telling me it's probably something else. I have also tried taking a few months off weed as a break hoping that it would return back to normal without these horrible effects but sadly that also did not work. I have no completely ran out of ideas and am starting to this there is no way out of this and I'm going to have to stop smoking weed for life.

I hope there is someone out there who has come up with a solution to this and manages to read my post!

Cheers!
