Is it okay to cool the glass pipe with a damp cloth?

Hello, when you smoke meth I feel like I waste my dose a lot, I would like to know how I can do so not to waste it, before I used to do the wet cloth thing until one day I put it on it and the pipe cracked, it didn't break, this I imagine it is due to the change in temperature. Well, leave me some tips and tricks on how you experts do it 😉😉
