I have been diagnosed with bipolar 1 and adhd, and am currently on wellbutrin (150mg), vyvanse (20mg) and valproic acid/depakote (1000mg) daily.

I want to know if I can take MDMA (I would take a small dose) if I were to not take the wellbutrin or vyvanse the day of, but stay on the valproic acid, which is my mood stabilizer, to protect me from a manic episode. I haven't been manic for 3 years, since I started taking valproic acid. There doesn't seem to be a specific interaction online on psychonaut for MDMA and valproic acid, but the bipolar subreddits say mixed things aboit MDMA in general. They don't really refer to valproic acid mucu (it's not the most common drug for bipolar so it tends to not come up as much, but it's worked really well for me).

What are your thoughts? Is this a stupid idea?

For context, I have done MDMA a few times in the past but that was a long time ago, long before my first and only manic episode in 2021. I always had a good time taking MDMA (though of course the day after was rough, which is to be expected).

I don't plan to mix alcohol or weed etc (I don't really consume either all that much anymore to be honest) - I just want to roll. It would be in a safe environment with close friends and my partner who I trust.
