Olanzapine is an antipsychotic drug used to treat bipolar disorder, schizophrenia & other psychiatric disorders. the injection is used for fast acting sedation & control over symptoms such as psycho's & mania.
100x 5ml 10mg/2ml vials 1,480mg olanzapine tartrate 5,000mg lactose monohydrate 3,520mg sodium citrates (pH 5.0) 10,000mg total mass (100mg per vial)
pH 5.0 Sodium Citrates:
1: Dissolve 10g of sodium hydroxide in 100ml of ice water.
2: Dropwise add concentrated citric acid until a pH of 5.0 is reached.
3: Slowly boil off the water until almost dry, then add to a vacuum dessicator to dry over calcium chloride.
Vials:
1: Weigh out 1,480mg of olanzapine tartrate, 5,000mg of lactose monohydrate & 3,520mg of sodium citrates (pH 5.0)
2: Place a vial on a scale & zero it. Add the olanzapine & the lactose, add tje citrates slowly to reach a weight of exactly 10,000mg.
3: Cap the vial & shake for 3 hours to harmogionise the powder.
4: Load 5ml vials with 100mg of the powder each & crinp shut.
I'm unsure on how to sterilise, probably needs gamma radiation which isn't something thats very accessible!
