I wanna preface this by saying I normally don’t do coke this often or this much at once, but I hate being sober around my family so bought a gram of coke for thanksgiving last weekend. I ended up selling off a quarter of it to a friend, so I binged 0.75g of coke over the weekend while visiting my parents. I was dead set on finishing what I had so I don’t get the urge to do any more of it (I can’t do more coke if I don’t have any more coke) but it took me a while to finish it since I have a low tolerance.

Sunday night, my throat became very dry and scratchy out of nowhere. It hurt whenever I swallowed, coughed or choked. I’m also a weed smoker so every hit would make it worse, and every line of coke burned my throat so bad, i took Advil and Tylenol. It helped, until I did another line of coke and then my whole throat was on fire again. I’m so used to coke making my whole throat go numb that I was convinced I must have strep throat.

Fast forward to Monday morning, I went to see my doctor about my throat, she knows I’m a smoker, but I didn’t say anything about the cocaine. I turned all of my weed into edibles and quit smoking for a bit, and like I said, I finished all of the coke I had so I’m not doing that anymore either. I had strep throat twice last year so I think I can recognize the symptoms very well. I got tested for COVID, the flu, mono, and strep.

My strep results haven’t come back yet and everything else came back negative. I also got a note to excuse me from work for 2 days. The thing is, my throat barely hurts anymore and I think the throat pain may have been caused by me doing lines back to back for 3-4 days straight.

This is my first time doing a coke binge like this (I made sure to sleep each night too btw) so idk if this is like normal after you do a bunch of coke, but if it is, I just missed 2 days of work bc of a comedown like an idiot. I’m gonna feel really stupid if it turns out I don’t have strep at all. I wish I had thought about this earlier
