so about a week ago i got my hands on some adderral. i have ADHD so ive wanted to try adderral for a while, but ive had issues with being underweight in the past and already have a small appetite so my doctors have always refused to put me on it, rather prescribing me non-stimulant adhd meds that dont work in the slightest. anyway, when i got the aderral i was already freaking out. i had ran out of weed and was desperate to feel high or intoxicated in some way. so instead of taking the normal dose of adderal i decided, fuck it, and took about 4 pills (each of which were a heavy dose for a 300 pound man, im 105 pounds and female). as you might expect, i didnt sleep that night, which was fine with me, not like id never pulled an all-nighter before. but the following day my mouth was insanely dry, no matter how many fluids i drank. near the end of the day my mouth was so dry that it was becoming almost impossible to swallow, and that made it difficult to breathe. i ended up having to do a strange jerking motion with my head to swallow and clear up the back of my throat so i could breathe. the day after that, i woke up with unbearable pain in my mouth. i couldnt eat solid food because it felt like someone had ran sandpaper over my tongue and inner mouth. upon investigation in the mirror, i had gotten a “scalloped tongue”, presumably from dehydration, where there were open wounds on the sides of my tongue and certain parts of my lips. i stayed home for two days because of my inability to eat from the pain and difficulty breathing, playing it off as a bad cold. now im aware that dehydration is a common side effect of aderral, but the severity to which i had experienced it was nowhere in the “common side effects” section of the web pages. furthermore, my condition was not described in the adderral overdose symptom list. im partially writing this post to ask if this has happened to anyone else, but also just out of shock. i know i was in no serious danger- i am all better now, fully hydrated, tongue healed. but even though i have extensive experience with drugs this is the first time ive ever experienced any somewhat serious negative side effects. im pretty sure its quite common among addicts to have heard of the dangers of whatever substance theyre using but, consciously or subconsciously, think “well that would never happen to me, i’ll be careful”. the whole debacle, despite it ending up to be not a huge deal, showed me that there really is danger in me going around taking whichever drugs i want and however much i want. i know, sounds like a pretty obvious fact, but sometimes someone telling you that what youre doing is dangerous isnt enough- you need to be shown. now im just like, wow, i can actually hurt myself doing this shit. it just really shook me up and i wanted to tell someone, sorry about the rant.
edit: yes i spelled it wrong in the title shh
