Why is everyone so afraid of methamphetamine but not of amphetamine? They are extremely similar compounds with chiefly the same mechanism of action. You see people abusing Adderall claiming it's great while saying meth is evil and will ruin your life. Amphetamine is definitely less rewarding than meth because its action on the DAT, SERT and NET is less potent but the long-term effects of abusing either seem pretty similar. This is both about street amphetamine/methamphetamine and their clean pharmaceutical counterparts like Adderall and Desoxyn.
