Is it Adderall tolerance or am I just being impatient?

Sometime during what I believe was august, I took 40 mg of adderall, which was double my original dosage. I remember staying up all night, texting and calling as many people as I could, and overall just feeling my absolute best. It was amazing.
About an hour ago I took 40 mg again. Hoping for the same result, but it’s been a while and I’ve only noticed a slight difference. I can tell it’s kicked in but I’m not high. I just feel like as if I took my regular dosage.
I’m getting hella impatient atp and i’m questioning popping another pill but I don’t know if it’s gonna eventually kick in or not. Should I give it more time? Or should I take another 20 mg?
(Also mind you I haven’t been on adderal for even half a year yet.)
EDIT: took another 20mg, so now im at a total of 60mg. All i’ve gotten so far were migraines :/
