Is it possible to make your tolerance to oral morphine/oxy lower, even if you don't stop taking it?

Post Body

If I wan't to feel anything from my morphine pills anymore, I have to take 200-400mg, and it costs too much. I was once off it for a week and when I started up again, they worked well at 100mg. Now I'm too into them that I can't cold turkey for a week. Now the only way I found I could get some high off of a lower dose is drink alcohol one day, while not taking any opiates, then take them the next day to relieve hangover, aswell as having cold turkeyed the opiates for 30-40ish hours.

I want to taper down, but I can't completely quit them right now. Mainly to save money, and still get some sedation from my pills. I have been on them for around 9 months steady right now, and this is not my first experience with opiate addication. Any help is appreciated, thanks.
