Changa joint without effect

I was able to smoke changa joints at the Ozora festival three times. It was from different persons so it shouldn’t be the potency. They kinda explained me how to smoke it because it’s different than a regular joint. But don’t felt much and hadn’t much hallucinations. I feel like I do this inhale and try to hold it in as long as possible thing wrong. Can someone explain me how to smoke it the correct way?
