I've gone on before about how everyone is taking too many hits and we should all be taking fewer and waiting longer in between hits. That was unsurprisingly not a very popular opinion, but it's an opinion nonetheless.
But now what I'm saying is that if you're using a cartridge that regardless of how many hits you actually take that most people are probably taking a second hit from it sooner than is ideal. This is not only because the surface area which the holes that allow the oil to enter the coil/wick very small, but also THC oil is considerably viscous which means that's only going to doubly slow the speed of reabsorption as well.
I let my cartridges rest for at least 15-30 minutes for the coil/wick to absorb as much of the THC oil as possible. Sometimes 15-30 minutes is still not enough. How can you tell? Because you can taste the wick burning if the THC oil is not fully reabsorbed. Anyone can do this themselves and it gets easier the more you're deliberately mindful of whether you're just hitting the wick or not.
What I realized recently though is if you're using a vape in a rotation that after the first person there's going to be almost nothing left for the second person to hit let alone the third. Some people might say, "well if you suck harder you'll pull more of the THC oil into the wick" which is absolutely true but my point is that amount oil is still probably going to be much less than people imagine they're actually hitting. These are called dry hits and it doesn't just not get you high it ruins the coil/wick as well.
Anyway those are just my thoughts on the issue. I'm not necessarily saying I'm right or wrong but these are some of my observations. I'm interested to hear what you guys think and how many people agree or disagree with my notion.
