Sorry if this isn't the correct sub, if not can someone guide me?
A while back I had a really bad Sativa trip. I have smoked all the time in the past and for some reason this trip really messed me up in a terrible way. The following was an edible I had foolishly had a lot of.
First, it felt like I was dying, but no one believes or entertains it so I usually don't bring it up or elaborate. All I'll say is it's hard to describe but you just know without ANY doubt. When this was happening, and during the peak of the trip I tried pacing to stay with it, but I kept on slipping in and out. If you believe that, cool, if not, I'll just speak like I was on the verge of passing out.
The worst part was fighting my mind slipping. First, towards the beginning of the trip, I had to throw up, after that, I heard the first "Doying" on repeat super fast, emphasis on the 'DOY' part. 'DOYing DOYing DOYing' I didn't even know what the hell I was hearing until it clicked it was the word 'dying' with a weird accent. Up to that point, the trip was just fun an giggly, and then I started seeing red a little like everything had a red tint and I quickly started feeling like passing out. I go to lay down and listen to calming music, but it didn't feel right and it didn't feel like sleeping.
At that point, unrelated to the voice, I knew if I passed out I would die. Just, your body knows and I knew. So I flip out and stand up because I was not gonna let myself pass out under any circumstances. I go to a room where I can pace back and forth.
As the feeling of passing out got nearer, I would hear this humming noise. It sounded like an electric guitar almost, and was like a fast version of the THX audio clip but without the satisfying ending. Just the really creepy string and buildup. I was reminded of it when I saw this video years later, this is the first and only time I EVER heard anyone talk about that, and he does a really good job describing what it sounded like. https://youtu.be/3g4C1opXBiU?si=QQ8GHnqPFwUSg8CQ&t=958 . Video is of a story of a Christian claiming to have an NDE after a bad Sativa trip.
Side Note: Hearing his story made me want to share, I have been hesitant because of bad feedback in the past. But now that I share part of the experience with someone, I am a little more confident in sharing.
Some hums were EXACTLY like his, other lasted up to 2-3 seconds. Each hum was accompanied with a strong wave of disorientation. When I was hearing the hum, I had to sit and I was really cold. There was a fireplace nearby and I couldn't even feel the heat, and my fingertips were numb. I was texting a friend about my trip and freakout and I couldn't feel my thumbs as I typed.
As I was slipping in and out of consciousness, and it was really dark. My vision was like tunneled, but instead of seeing a tunnel or just a small circle in front of me, it was more like the only thing in the world that existed was right in front of me. My brain could not process one single thing outside of that. Just like you know for example, "hey outside that door is a hallway," I could not. I couldn't even process other objects in the room with me unless I turned and looked at them. 0 object permanence with 0 peripheral I guess. I wouldn't even understand how to look at the room, like every time I looked everything was foreign to me, almost dreamlike. I did not even recognize a room I've seen so many times.
They best way to describe it, it was like the world was moving forward on a train, and you fell off and watched it speed away. Even something in front of my face seemed really distant.
As I got closer to the feeling of passing out, it was like my mind wanted to play an outro. While I did see red, hear the hum, hear 'doying', etc, this part was definitely in my head. My mind wanted to play a little made up outro jingle and it reminded me of looney tunes, I even visualized the outro circles. It gave me a strong impression of my brain symbolically saying "goodbye." This was the closest I felt to dying/passing out. Picture the looney tunes outro below, without the words, and the jingle being about 2 seconds long instead, and your mind knows the middle of the circle is death and how close you are to it.

You just stare into that dark circle trying to avoid it. It's hard to write this without it sound poetic or cheesy, but imagine just seeing ONLY those circles knowing it signifies death's door trying to pull you in for at least 20-30 minutes and every like 3 seconds you have to fight really hard to not give in.
At this point, it felt like all my personality was gone, and I was running on my BIOS so to speak. Like I couldn't even remember if I tried all the things about myself, it was like my brain could only process minimal information under a live or die blanket. That was a really weird part. Might be ego death but I don't really know. It felt more like my personality is a shell around the basic me, and only the smallest, simplest part of me was awake/active at this time. Like all non essential systems are down.
It sucked because I spent what felt like forever fighting giving in to passing out. It was a REALLY hard fight to stay awake but I made sure I did and eventually it all started waning. When it did, I was more aware of things around me, and I was able to calm down. Once I knew I got past the peak, it got a lot easier. Now I was just tired and just wanted to sleep, and it felt way different than me slipping in and out before.
For all I know I'm a dumbass who doesn't know what fainting feels like, and I may have been fighting my body trying to gracefully knock me out because of a panic attack.
What I really want to know, has anyone had ANYTHING similar to me? Everyone just laughs it off, but I want to see if anyone has experienced anything. I'm fine with conceding I may/probably wasn't dying, but I experienced a lot of weird stuff I have never experienced on a trip before.
