My stages of addiction. What were yours?
Post Body
- 12 years old I smoked with my friend. They were his dad's roaches.
- 14 years old I started buying my own weed and stole pills from my parents/grandparents cabinets.
- 17 years old started feeling like I couldn't do anything unless I was atleast high on weed.
- 18 years old bought heroin and smoked it. Classic gateway scenario, I wanted to be more high.
- 24 years old I was completely reliant on heroin. Withdrawals and all but didn't consider myself addicted.
- 25 years old quit heroin cold turkey. But I still had to be high. If I didn't have weed I would Huff dust off. So on and so forth.
- 26 years old I quit heroin. I bought meth. I was a very heavy drinker at this point. A half gallon a day. I'd almost call myself an addict at this point. But it was socially and I felt I could quit when I wanted to.
- 28 years old I'm almost exclusively using meth. I started getting into a little trouble with the law. I'm noticing changes in myself mentally and in little bits, physicaly.
- 30 years old I've been sent to rehab, have spent time in jail, have warrants and exclusively use meth unless offered something else. Im a closet user and hide it from most. Ive become reclusive.
- 32 years old I admit full blown addiction. I've tried stopping I've progressed beyond anything I thought I would. From smoking to slamming. From honesty to cheating. From caring to not. This is my final stage of addiction. Hopefully it will be over soon.
Curious how different/similar y'all's steps may have been.
