A friend of mine is on a low dose of SNRI's like 75mg Effexor/Venlafaxine. They decided to try shrooms for the very first time, more specifically the albino penis envy strain. 2 grams were ingested in capsules with a shot of lemon juice concentrate. After an hour, they claimed that they felt as if they smoked a moderate amount of weed. They reported that they did not see any tracers or any visuals like fractals. Same report for the next 2 hours. So basically, 3 hours in and nothing was experienced compared to another friend who said they were experiencing random waves of visuals after an hour of ingestion. So my friend on Effexor did not share with us that they took antidepressants prior to taking the shrooms. How dangerous is it to take shrooms concurrently with ssri's or SNRIS. I've never heard of anyone taking shrooms and having any deleterious effects because of antidepressants. I just don't want them to try again and have a really bad experience because they tried MORE shrooms.... Instead of reducing their daily dose or quiting.
