The fact that one can be imprisoned solely for the possession and/or use of drugs is insane. If you’re not committing any other crime, then what harm are you causing? There are an enormous amount of casual/recreational drug users that face legal consequences far greater than their use entails and this is a travesty. Every ill that the war on drugs wishes to solve can be better done by rendering X objectionable behavior illegal and punishable. You don’t need to render substances illegal to do this and to control behavior. The entire concept is just so fucked it’s mind boggling
