I just got a call from my pharmacy saying I picked up the two of the same controlled substances at two different pharmacies.
I travel for work- I needed a refill of two meds (controlled). My doctor sent them to Walgreens, I also had a refill of antibiotic, ondanstron ordered too. The pharmacist tech there told me they were out of stock of 1 of the meds and the others were not complete.
I told my doctor the tech said they were out of stock and she sent it to Publix. I called Walgreens and told them I would pick them up at Publix. I went to Publix . No issue. I get a notification on my phone that TWO days later “Your rx is ready for pickup” at Walgreens. So I go- picked up a big thing of other meds I originally ordered that had refills. I continue on with life.
I try to order a refill today and I get a call Walgreens “You picked up two of the same meds at Publix and at Walgreens last month”… I am speechless. She says “I won’t fill it til I make your doctor aware”
I put all my bottles of meds into a safe at home, I haven’t yet opened all the bags. Obviously if I picked up two- I did. I just cannot believe that happened AND HOW DOES THAT HAPPEN? How did they not see two days earlier I had been dispensed 90 days of of a controlled med?!!?
I want to cry.
