Why some drugs are legal in your state and some aren't

Post Body

Usually drugs that are government approved are drugs that enhance your country's population's ability to work and improve that economy ( ever wonder why coffee is so prevalent in your workplace and every other place in between)

Alcohol got an exception because culturally it's been prevalent in since ancient times in practically every any country worldwide except ones that are devout believers of a specific flavor of imaginary friends ( and even there they still brew it in secret)

So K, Psychedelics, weed.. The rest, Don't really enhance your country's economy which is why the country bans it to stop those who have addictive tendencies from becoming addicts who don't work, pay taxes etc.

Drugs becoming legal in some states is a slow proccess that takes place on two fronts

The first is the social/cultural aspect as the drug has become so socially and culturally ingrained and prevalent in society of that state, that legislators are faced with a choice of either putting thousands in jail, which costs the state a shit ton, or legalization which may bring about a few useless addicts, but would cost way less than housing all those addicts in jail

Financial/Judicial - if the drug is not prevalent in society it's availibility is low and thus the total market value for it would also be low. However if you look at the markets that have recently legalized MJ, you'd see the states that took that route are raking in billions in taxes. This is because the state realized it stands to profit much more from taxation than what it stands to lose from people smoking and not working ( which would've done so with our without legal MJ status)

So for example, in 50 years from now, if shrooms become as prevalent and socially acceptable as edibles and vape carts are in California, it's entirely possible the state will decide to start selling those too for a huge payday.

Just my high thoughts about legality and drugs use

Peace 💙
