If a diazepam pill melts completely on your tongue, will it still fully work if you down that with water?

Post Body

So tried half a pill of diazepam i got from my doctor and it is so small it just completely dissolved on my tongue before i could swallow it as a pill. I already had some water in my mouth and decided to just swallow the entire liquid and did drink some additional water afterwards as it has a bitter taste. Now was wondering if i got the full effect from this or not? I felt a little bit drowsy but that's it. Reason i'm asking is when i google this they say you have to swallow pill as a whole and not crush it or dissolve in water. Hope people here with experience can clarify. Thanks.
