Reoccurring dream where I hug my younger self.

I've had this dream off and on since 2017. The dream begins by floating outside my body and making its way to the bathroom. I see my younger self, crouched down and crying. I float down to her and give her a hug. The dream then abruptly stops.
I can't figure out why this dream keeps reoccurring. Anyone else have a similar experience or insight as to what this means? I also dream a lot, but usually not about the same things.
