How come I enjoy doing things in my dreams but not in real life ?

To be more specific.. in my dreams I love playing basketball. It’s my favorite thing to do. I get excited and motivated. In real life, I don’t feel that same way. I grew up playing the sport, and I have a love for the game. But as I’ve gotten older, I’ve stopped playing and haven’t found the motivation to do so, because it doesn’t hit the same as when I was young. I am about to go an attempt to play basketball outside right now.
