The setting was Earth in the near future. We all had augmented reality and were far more connected then normal. 3D printing was also vastly ahead of where it is currently. People could print everyday items in their homes or in designated centers in their apartments or communities..

What was being broadcast around the world though. Through the augmented reality. I wasn't sure what I was seeing at first. I thought it was a realistic documentary. There was an unknown planet or massive asteroid on a collision course towards earth. This led to natural disasters and people going feral in order to survive. Despite the advancements in technology. Some things never change. But as the planet came closer. So did the "asteroids" or rather. These balls of fiery light. Killed many but did something very strange to a select few. It turned them into these subhumans that didn't outright look like demons. But something about being hit by these fiery asteroids caused them to have some sort of influence on their surroundings. They caused hallucinations and hysteria to those in their immediate surroundings. Where they appeared as these demonic looking creatures. They'd glitch in and out of these forms as more and more people died.

The world was on the brink of destruction and total anhilation. Attempts to shoot down the "asteroid" were unsuccessful.

In that final week of desperation. A former jet fighter pilot. Started having these visions. Of the future. Brighter days ahead. Visions of light. Something was calling to him. It's like he was being summoned to save humanity.

He tells the UN of what needed to happen and how to construct an experimental new weapon. A new form of light based technology.

They scramble to build it with nothing left to lose. They launch their advanced jets that were capable of leaving earth's atmosphere.

It was crazy. All these asteroids and debris flying past me as they were doing their best to stave off destruction to their last chance at survival as best they could. It was like a symphony of desperation and destruction.

An entire planets hope seemed to flow into this missile as it was launched and it began to glow brilliantly. Disintegrating anything that came close to it.

And then before it hit. I saw it. This massive "thing" It was this planet sized structure. It was half planet, half dragon. Or what looked this eldritch dragon. Imprisoned into the rock of the planet. Waiting to be set free upon earth's destruction.

But it would not come to pass. The missile glowing with this bluish bright light. Powered by the prayers and desperate hopes of a dying planet. Struck the dragon. And it looked so brilliant. An explosion of star dust. Completely distengrates before our eyes. And you could feel this overwhelming presence of doom. Be lifted.m from the hearts of everyone.

Armageddon was prevented. All thanks to another force entirely. A light that was in direct antithesis of the darkness that this ancient imprisoned dragon embodied and brought forth upon the earth.

And so the dream ends with that earth's salvation. The visions of a better tomorrow had come to pass. People lived for each other again. Alongside the light that came to them in a time of desperate need.
