I was moments away from getting married... the groom was literally standing at the altar, all I needed to do is walk down the aisle. I kept delaying it (needed to fix my hair, make molds of big toes, etc) but eventually I went through with it.
Afterwards, like many weddings, there was a reception. Don't really remember much of that part except for two things. One, that I didn't really spend any time with my now husband. Two, some people close to me had filmed videos for me to watch when I got married. My grandpa who died when I was four had filmed one of these videos, and it's the only one I ended up watching. Forget exactly what was said, but my grandpa was laying on the floor of my parent's house, just chilling, with my now-ex uncle playing with a remote control car.
Family is now at my parent's house. I still haven't seen my new husband, but I think at this point he turned into my sister or something because that's who I spoke to for a while, a lot about having kids. Or maybe that was just my actual sister asking when she'll get nieces and nephews, idk. While we were talking, we were playing with a pet rat. Or, rather, I was playing with a pet rat. Whenever my sister tried to pet it, it would run away for a minute before coming back to me.
After talking to my sister, I walked over to my dad, who was sitting at the kitchen table. On the chair next to him were jeans belonging to his dad, the one who died when I was four. I just stared at those for a bit, not speaking. Eventually, we began talking, and mentioned the rat, comparing it going to school (guess it's a smart rat) to us going to work, we only do it because we get paid.
Then, after our chat, I overheard my parents talking, who mentioned "the accident" that killed my grandpa. That made me wonder how he actually died.
