EMDR/psychotherapy and Dreams?

Post Body

Hi all,

New to the group. I honestly can’t believe I hadn’t considered joining before. My unconscious is expansive and I often have extraordinarily vivid, often haunting, dreams. I don’t have significant traumatic history yet my dreams can be quite vulgar and distressing. I do have recurring themes and continuity of dreams. I haven’t journaled my dreams yet though this something I am interested in doing.

I’ve discussed my dreams in limited extent with my therapist, and she suggested we try EMDR to process the meanings of my dreams.

Has anyone explored their dreams through EMDR or other bottom-up forms of psychotherapy? What was your experience like?

Thanks!!
