I dreamt a coworker, whom I've had very little interactions with, expressed interest in me and then I quickly became the target of a spy movie chase

Post Body

I dreamt that I was walking along somewhere and I got a call from one of my coworkers.

This is someone whom I have not spoken to much in real life. Yet, she called me and to my surprise she told me that she liked me. I remember her voice was gentle at first. I was not filled with happiness, but rather a sense of impending panic. It's always my natural reaction when someone tells me that they like me. The reason is that I hate being the object of somebody else's unrequited feelings as I know how deep that sting is.

I remember my heart beat gentle taking a spike as I wondered how to tell her no. However, her voice quickly went from gentle to mild to hard to downright spikes with anger and the odd tear. Her pace of talking went up and she was talking faster, not allowing me to respond or interject. I just panicked more at the awkwardness and didn't want to rudely interrupt in addition to having to refuse.

I suppose she understood my response even without me having to explicitly say so because things quickly became intense. Her voice was now shrill. She was half crying and half ordering me. No longer was she just saying she liked me and wanted to have coffee but it quickly escalated to demands of being in a relationship, commitment and marriage even.

I also remember the more she spoke and the faster she did, the clouds gathered and so did helicopters. I disconnected the phone and tried to run but I was being chased. I was really worried and scared about how I'd face her and how to let her down gently since i hate breaking anyone's heart.

Finally, I remember the dream ending with me being in a room with a different female coworker. She had her mother and father as well as a whole host of relatives in the room and they were all questioning me about why I wouldn't want to marry this female coworker. She looked a little embarassed and said we aren't 'red' in a rush for marriage, we're just 'blue'. My workplace uses colours as code words to indicate project statuses (red for late, orange for delay, green for in time).

I wonder why I had these dreams. The first coworker who proposed to me on the phone and quickly spoke in a shrill and angry voice once she sensed my hesitation is someone I have barely spoken to at work. In my dream, she sensed I have a hard time saying no so she took advantage and quickly escalated demands. I also didn't understand the second dream.

However, when I woke up, someone who has actually confessed feelings for me in the past (2 years ago), and whom I respectfully let down messaged me and asked me if I want to meet. Although I do hope she is over me, I often worry she isn't.

Overall, I am quite confused about what this dream meant. I did not have time to ruminate on the dream when I woke up as I was getting late for an event I had to participate in. I did well in that event finally and am writing this down before I go to sleep so I have forgotten some details.
I did find the dream very interesting. The symbols it used. And though it was scary for a while, I suppose it was exhilarating to be proposed to in a dream though I was having a panic attack figuring out how to say no nicely. It was very vivid.

So I thought I would post it here for a discussion.
