Quest Items Stuck

Has anyone gotten quest items after they finished the quest and then it’s just was totally stuck in their inventory?
I do go back and forth between pc and switch so maybe something happened with that but I picked up vial of frozen water after I’m done with that quest line and I have a mysterious book that idk what it does.
