even tho Chef is presumed dead keep in mind her death took place off screen so it could very easily be retconned in the future to where she somehow survived being eaten by the mountain creature.

and Velvet could be written to escape prison or just get the charges dropped entirely if the films wanna continue the running theme of Trolls being a severely abused species overall 😅😅😅😅

personally I'd pick Chef while Velvet was a fun villain I feel Chef coming back as the villain again in a future film would open up a lot of story potential.

mainly in regards to Branch and his Brothers given she killed their Grandma and well the first film never really acknowledged that in present day.

so Bro zone working through some lingering family problems and the film ending with them working together to defeat their grandma's killer would be a nice satisfying little story arc imo plus it could even be a nice little case of Branch finally facing his greatest fears.

like imagine if the film opened with him still having nightmares about the day his Grandma died when he was a kid still showing this having a deep effect on him even now.

and refusing to talk to his brothers about it due to them only just having come back into his life recently and still not really feeling comfortable opening up to them.

but yeah I think Chef coming back has some nice emotional story potential tho I get that Velvet is probably a funner character and I'm sure she could be used in some creative ways as well if she were to come back.
