John Dory is established as a not very socially aware guy who constantly says things that Rub people the wrong way but Bruce is shown to be a fairly socially normal Husband and Dad who co Runs a Business that Requires him having Decent people skills.
so why was he such a Jerk in this scene? like he had Beef with JD and was angry with him but for some Reason he sees Branch being upset at the thought of them all parting ways again and Rolls his eyes and mocks him for it like what the Hell?
just seems so cruel and the movie didn't actually give an explanation on what his point of view was meant to be here he just comes across as a massive D word.
and he and JD never even actually apologise for their Behaviour either the movie's Resolution to this whole thing just feels one sided and backwards in my opinion.
like Branch forgives them all once and later on the Bros all show how Unreliable they are when they wanna Ditch each other again after one argument and JD and Bruce take things a step Further by straight up Mocking Branch for having Valid feelings.
and then after this they get captured and need to be Bailed out of trouble meanwhile Branch is the one who is given the big character Realisation when he overhears Poppy say something to Viva about their Rocky family History.
and this is seemingly the moment he Decides to give his bros another chance and to convince them they don't need to be perfect so basically the movie gives the character Arc to the one person who wasn't at fault either of the times the family Broke down.
its just Bizaar writing it doesn't make any sense really the other Brothers were the ones in the wrong both times yet so the movie giving this moment to Branch doesn't work at all its basically telling an abused Puppy to keep going back to its owner despite them behaving crappy time and time again and never changing.
it'd make way more sense if Branch had gotten taken for the climax after he stormed out of Rhonda and the older Brothers had actually made the effort to put their differences aside to go save the two youngest of the family.
meanwhile give the moment overhearing Poppy and Viva to JD given he was the one obsessed with perfection in the first place so him having this Realisation and admitting it to the other Bros During the climax would actually make sense as a character Building moment.
meanwhile Branch and Floyd actually get to see their older Bros working together to stick their necks out and put their lives on the line for them which would add a bit more reason to actually give them another chance at the end of the film.
oh and also have JD and Bruce actually apologise at the very end since they were massive Jerks in the argument scene.
