I have this dream at least twice a year for the last 15 or so years: Sometimes, I’m in a neighborhood/subdivision where the houses are close together and sometimes I’m in the country and it’s a big property with one main house. In either case, I’m on foot or bike and I enter the homes of strangers through one entrance and just walk around looking for the exit. I know I’m not supposed to be there and I always exit fairly quickly, but there’s often an element of almost getting caught by the owner. I never take anything or look around much at all—it’s like their house is just a thing I seem to think I have to go through to keep going on my way. Before I enter each home, I don’t think anything of it. Why wouldn’t I do this? But, once inside, I always have a realization that I don’t belong here. I never reach a final destination and aside from the realization I always have while inside each home that I shouldn’t have done this, I’m very calm and happy otherwise.
I think I know what a lot of it is about, I would just like some more insight.
Edit to add: I just remembered: -Sometimes I’ve been with a dog -Sometimes there’s a threatening character who’s trying to trap me -Sometimes it’s a multi-family dwelling with weird passages to the different floors
