Throwing Rocks at Lions By Never Wm. M. S. Hall 2018 Oct. 30th

These morons do not think before they start hurling stones.

I see plainly that there is no consideration for the traumatic experiences of the individuals who have been captured and assimilated into these slave camps called correctional institutions.

Of course, no two stories are the same, though those who take positions as oppressors would have you believe otherwise. However, the result is identical across the board.

We are men violently snatched from our homes.

We are men stripped of our freedom, our lives and our identities.

We are men disconnected from all meaningful contact with family, friends, partners and even our own children.

We are men robbed of our independence and our dignity. And any semblance of honor we may have acquired on our journey is spat upon by those we know to be our lesser, as we know that they could never have survived the world we were subjected to and would never survive the captivity we are subjected to now.

They do not recognize that they maintain their uniforms and positions because we allow it.

They do not recognize that their illusions of power and control only exist because we go out of our way to focus all of our energy on a future that we are very aware may never arrive.

They never consider the fact that a man in a cage is still a man… that being in a cage does not weaken one’s mind, his body or his will, but rather strengthens it… That a man in a cage has not forgotten who he was before his capture any more than wild lions forget how to hunt, kill and survive long after they’ve been condemned to life in a zoo.

Yet, like arrant children in zoos, these morons take sport in throwing rocks at lions and dare to feign surprise when lions attack.

The world, outside, gawks at the reports of violence against the over-seers… excuse me, the officers of these facilities. They hear one-sided reports from the friends and co-workers of the sadistic person(s) who have finally met with karma.

“I don’t believe (s)he really did anything to deserve this.” … “Oh, but (s)he was always so nice and polite to everyone.’’ … “(S)he would have never disrespected or upset anyone,” the poor victim’s companions lie before bloodthirsty cameras and news crews.

Odd how no one ever gets around to the slave quarters to ask the prisoners what they thought of the poor victim of another thoughtless crime. Funny how you never get the story about how the oppressors consistently antagonize, demoralize and degrade the prisoners and that prisoners hold worthy resentment towards their oppressors.

Strange how the part of the story where the poor victim continuously poked, prodded and provoked the prisoners into constant fury and rage is never mentioned. Isn’t it convenient that the other side of the story, where one prisoner, without any outlet for this building anger, was forced to stew under the weight of these extreme, mentally debilitating, conditions for months, and in some cases years, before he finally cracked under the pressure… before the day he decided he wasn’t going to take it anymore, is never mentioned.

I understand, now, the look in the caged lion’s eyes. No outlet, no release and no hope of freedom. Yet, like arrant children in zoos, these morons take sport in throwing rocks at lions and dare to feign surprise when lions attack.

People who have never experienced the inside of a cage throw tantrums like children when a man is released from these prison camps and, instead of creating a better life for himself, he goes deeper into a world of crime. These idiots actually have the nerve to ask questions like, “Why didn’t he learn his lesson the first time? … “Why can’t these guys just get a job like everybody else?” … “Why do we even bother to let them out?”

But they never stop to take into consideration that even after a person’s done the time for whatever it was they were convicted of the public is unforgiving and relentless in their pursuit to torture you for the rest of your life for a mistake that you may or may not have made. Even after parole and your so-called debt to society is paid.

Lifetime background checks and the unchecked bias against people who have a felony on their record leaves a person with little choice in a world where a full time job at a McDonald’s does not pay you enough to live without breaking the law.

The few places that will hire an ex-convict will only pay you a portion of the normal wage because you have a felony on your record. So, you can not afford to pay rent in the apartment that charges you twice as much as the other tenants because you have a felony on your record. You can not afford to pay the car loan that you pay twice as much for as other costumers because you have a felony on your record. You can not afford to pay for child support that you pay twice as much for because you have arrears from the time you spent in prison. You can not afford to pay for your phone service and pay for food and buy clothing and keep up your insurance payments while working the wage slave jobs offered to people who have felonies.

In fact, everywhere you go, you are being taken advantage of or excluded altogether because you have a felony on your record.

But these things are never taken into consideration when people get out of prison and find themselves in a world where they must either die, live like an animal in the streets or turn to crime to survive.

These factors are never taken into consideration when the slaves are released into a world where they do not have the same rights as all the other citizens… when they are dubbed only 3/5th human and so are forced to live only 3/5th of a life.

They never consider and never think to tell you that once you are branded a slave in these institutions you will be branded a slave for life.

And isn’t it convenient that the other side of the story, where this newly released slave without any outlet for this building anger, was forced to stew under the weight of these extreme, mentally debilitating, conditions for months, and in some cases years, before he finally cracked under the pressure… before the day he decided he wasn’t going to take it anymore, is never mentioned.

I understand, now, the look in the caged lion’s eyes. No outlet, no release and no hope of freedom. Yet, like arrant children in zoos, these morons take sport in throwing rocks at lions and dare to feign surprise when lions attack.
