Beliefs & values about the purpose and methods of education and teaching for individuals and society--Theory & Praxis
Goals of education for students: The education of all students should be completed between 9 and 12 years of schooling. These students should graduate their third trimester with the equivalent of a collegiate Bachelor's degree in Liberal Arts by age 16. Which will give maturing students time to attune themselves to life and personal interests, to decide if 'higher' education would be of value to them, choose to begin a business of their own, establish a career path or decide on other pursuits. What was once called a 'Well Rounded Education' should be the goal. This means that students should be allowed to explore and experiment with as many different sciences/topics as they are comfortable with... as many as the institution can accomodate.
How learning is enacted to advance students toward those goals--pedagogy: A child's introduction to the environment, both natural and societal, is essential to the foundation of that child's ecological and social values; the love and appreciation of life; all life. A child's ability to express thoughts, feelings, perceptions and ideas is essential to self-worth; the love and appreciation of one's self. For, it is known, you can not love another unless you can first love yourself. The time and the way in which we introduce our children to society, or 'social education', must be exchanged for lessons of individuality, philosophy, health, research (personal, spiritual and educational) and each child should be well verse in communing with nature. They should not be taught to fear, oppress and destroy the natural environment for human advancement. It is apparent that there can be no community without many strong and confident individuals throughout the community to support it. And those individuals must know who they are and what they're capable of before they take on the responsibilities of the community. Otherwise, your simply processing children for another form of slavery; how to be a slave for a thousand masters is the same as being a slave for one master. They must be able to choose and decide for themselves how they will serve the community.
How a positive and effective learning environment can be cultivated: and
How student work is evaluated and assessed: Programming students to follow directions/instructions without actually teaching them how to learn and do the research for themselves is a product of slavery, which must be abolished altogether. Thus, programming our children, as is the current practice in public schools, must be exchanged for the cultivation of perseverence, creativity, imaginative ingenuity and, where it can be applied, cooperation. Still, students must never be taught to be dependent, because, though it is good to be able to look to your neighbor for support, it is never good to have to depend on that support; especially in this culture. (Just keeping it real.) Hence, the foundation of all education must begin with the Arts, Communication, Ecology and Research. And then gradually build knowledge through the sciences. Thus, assessment would be a matter of accomplishment; set a goal and its parameters, then allow the student to be as creative as need be to accomplish those goals, within those parameters. If the goal is accomplished without harming/endangering others; goal complete... success. Creativity and efficacy should be the main factors in assessment, but efficiency and environmental impact (societal and natural) might play a role depending on the goal.
How teacher effectiveness is evaluated and assessed: The students should evaluated the success of the their teachers; if they feel that they are learning what they endeavor to learn, are happy with the methods of education being applied and are able to apply the knowledge they gain in real life scenarios; then the teacher has accomplished the goal... success.
How educational institutions are evaluated and assessed: The community and school alumni should evaluate the success of the institution; if the institution is applying it resources toward the continual betterment and efficacy of their courses, and the success of its staff and students, then the results will be apparent in the community; particularly, in the success/well being of the institutions staff and alumni. If twenty percent of your alumni are working wage slave jobs, or are living in boxes behind Walmart, then there is a problem in the institution. If the majority of that failed twenty percent is made up of (so-called) minority peoples, then there is a bigger problem in the institution. If the board members of the institution all own six bedroom homes in the best neighborhoods, but all of its staff members are renting two bedroom apartments and supplementing their pay by working a second job, or a side hustle, there is another problem. The success of a truly educational institution will be apparent.
How ineffective learning environments can be corrected and improved upon: Students should be acquainted with how the sciences/philosophies are applied to all which that particular science/philosophy affects, and, to a degree, how that science/philosophy is interconnected with the total environment. Or, if it is not interconnected with the total environment, it is incorrect in concept and praxis. Example; Teach... - Agriculture as it pertains to Zoology, Ecology, Biology, Ethology, Physiology, Engineering, Economics and Mathematics. - Industry as it pertains to Zoology, Ecology, Biology, Ethnology, Sociology, Psychology, Economics, Mathematics, Architecture/Engineering and Physics. - Martial Science as it pertains to Zoology, Ecology, Biology, Ethology, Ethnology Sociology, Psychology, Physiology, Economics, Mathematics and Physics. - Governance as it pertains to Zoology, Agriculture, Ecology, Geology, Economics, Ethology, Sociology, Psychology, Mathematics and Physics. To learn the sciences as they are practiced in real life scenarios will strengthen the knowledge of the inter-relational systems which bind nature and human society together; giving the students full awareness of their total environment no matter what actions they should decide to take. And this should be any teachers primary focus.
